There are few things more enjoyable than dressing your little one up for Halloween. When you shop for baby and toddler Halloween costumes online, you will find a much wider selection and variety than is available in most retail stores. If you are stuck for ideas, here are some of the more popular costumes.

Classic Halloween

When someone says the word Halloween, the first images that pop into most minds are pumpkins, ghosts, and witches. These classic Halloween items are all brought to life as adorable baby and toddler Halloween costumes. You can dress your baby all in orange with a green stem hat and jack-o-lantern face in a pumpkin costume, or you can put your infant in a ghost costume with a white baby bunting and a little white hood. Your toddler will look cute as a button when she wears a witch costume with a pointed hat, striped socks, and carries a broomstick.

Animal Costumes

There is really nothing cuter than your baby or toddler dressing like a little lion, tiger, monkey, or rabbit. Try a penguin outfit with fins, a red bow tie, and top hat, or opt for a furry bunny suit complete with rabbit ears. There are even adorable costumes for animals like pigs and elephants. Parents love animal Halloween costumes because they are super cute and will keep your little one warm and cozy from head to toe on a chilly October evening.

Food Costumes

Food items usually aren’t the first things you think of when considering a Halloween costume, but when your baby is dressed up as a pea pod or a hot dog you will see why they have become so popular. Babies and toddlers are cute as can be when dressed up in these mini costumes. Other popular food costumes include Tootsie Rolls, ketchup, or a little silver Hershey’s kiss.

Character Costumes

Does your toddler enjoy Elmo, Winnie the Pooh, or Kermit the Frog? If so, your child will absolutely love wearing a costume based on his favorite cartoon or television characters, and there are an abundance of choices available. Some of the more popular include a Tigger costume suit with a character headpiece, or a plush Cookie Monster costume that closely resembles the furry monster.

Most baby and toddler costumes are made to come on and off easily, and even contain handy zippers and buttons that make diaper changes a breeze. The best place to find baby and toddler Halloween costumes is online. With the widest selection available, you won’t have a problem finding a costume for your little one. Instead, you may find it difficult to choose from the countless adorable little costumes available!

They will more than likely be a favorite foryoungsters, however even adults might possibly jump intothe spirit. The Buzz Lightyear Halloween costume is going to be amongst the most popular, so let’s look at a variety of things you ought to take into account when deciding on one.

The first thing you will want to consider is safety. A Buzz uniform could have various extras, with his jetpack, utility belt, helmet along with all the rest, so you’ll want to be certain that it’s safe for trick or treating. As youngsters will be out walking around, frequently in the streets near home, it really is crucial that the outfit is safe. Be certain they’ve got high visibility, especially if they are wanting to be entirely authentic with the helmet. The outfit should also allow them to step without restraint.

Consider that it is an animated picture – Tim Allen is not in reality up on the screen donning a Buzz Lightyear costume – therefore some of the accessories might possibly need to be adapted a bit, or skipped entirely. The utility belt seems fantastic, however it can add some load to the costume. Your kids likely have to make a decision if they should lug that extra weight around, especially once they have a sack full of candy to carry already!

If your young ones will be going out in a group on Halloween, or if you’re possibly arranging to throw a Halloween gathering for them, there are lots of Toy Story characters to decide from. Woody & Jessie will be very popular, along with more vintage toys like Slinky the Dog and Mr. Potato Head.

This is certainly a great option for an adult get-together also. A bunch of the toys in the picture were toys which many of us actually played with as young children, so it can be a pleasant trip down memory lane to dress up as the toy you enjoyed as a kid.

No matter if you’re looking for a Buzz Lightyear costume for a grown-up or for children, be sure you shop around to find the best deal. There are actually quite a few internet sites that carry costumes, and they commonly have a larger assortment in comparison to your neighborhood shops. However because you cannot check it out ahead of ordering it, be sure that the website have a good exchange policy, in case it does not fit or isn’t as it should be for any reason after you get it and try it on.

Or, if you may choose to rent your costume, be sure that you begin shopping ahead of schedule. The nearer you get to Halloween, the more difficult it is to obtain the costume you desire, because many rental shops offer a limited supply – perhaps only one or two – of any certain outfit.

Doing your groundwork before picking your costume will ensure that you receive the top possible bargain on the best costume for your requirements. Before you know it, you’ll be going “To Infinity And Beyond” along with the rest of the Toy Story characters.

While it’s true that babies are too young to enjoy Trick-or-Treating, dressing them up in baby Halloween costumes is something that parents often can’t resist. There are so many reasons to dress up a baby in a Halloween costume. But, the main thing is that there are Halloween costumes geared towards babies and all of them make the little ones look cute.

Reasons to Dress Up Baby

What are your motives for wanted to put baby Halloween costumes on your little ones? Do you want a cute picture to slip into your annual Christmas cards? Do you want to bring your little one along with you during Trick or Treat? Is your baby part of a play group that is having a costume party? Where the costume will be worn will often determine which costume to choose.

Finding Baby Halloween Costumes

You can find baby Halloween costumes in a variety of places. These include at online auction sites and in the classified, in department stores, costume shops, stores that specialize in baby clothing, and other places online. You can also borrow the costumes from people that you know and also make it yourself.

Baby Halloween Costumes Options

So, which baby Halloween costumes are appropriate for the little ones? Well, there are some adorable costumes designed to bring out a child’s unique personality. You can find pumpkins, clowns, black cats, even little witches. Animals also make for cute costumes and so do character outfits. Does your child favor certain cartoon characters or toys? Consider dressing them in those outfits.

Professional Photographer

If you are dressing up your child for the sole purpose of taking pictures and including them in albums and Christmas cards, you may want to hire a professional photographer who specializes in children. They will help bring out their unique gifts and help make sure they are happy and captured well on film. You want your baby to look their best!

Costume Party

If the baby Halloween costumes are designed for a costume party, keep in mind that they should be durable and washable. They may smear food on their outfit and get it dirty. Unlike other events such as getting pictures taken or trick or treating, a costume party is long and filled with activities that can ruin a costume. Make sure you get one or make one that is built to last.

Children usually anticipate Halloween for two reasons. The first is that they have a chance to dress up as their favorite characters. The second is that after they dress up, they get to go door to door, asking neighbors for candy. And the more candy you give them, the better. For these reasons, it is important that the kids Halloween costumes be perfect.

Kids Halloween costumes come in all kinds of different styles. Some choose to dress up as their favorite superhero or cartoon character. Others choose more traditional Halloween costumes such as witches, black cats, and monsters. They can also be happy, like clowns, or scary and modeled after popular horror movie characters.

Often, the kids Halloween costumes that the children wear will depend on the parents. Some won’t let their kids wear scary costumes. Other parents don’t mind. But as long as the child is still allowed to go trick or treating, in the end they’ll probably get over any initial disappointment.

Choosing Kids Halloween Costumes

The first step is to choose the kids Halloween costumes that your children will be wearing. Start by asking them what they want to be. If they express an interest and wanting to dress as something violent, such as a horror movie villain, you may want to intervene. If dressing up like this is all in fun, then perhaps you won’t mind.

If they can’t seem to decide, give them a few choices. Think about the shoes they watch, the books and comics they read, and the toys they tend to play with. Before you give them a choice, you may want to check in advance to make sure you can easily obtain the costume as a rental, to purchase, or the pattern and its necessary materials.

Getting the Costumes

The next step after your children decide which kids Halloween costumes they want to wear, you’ll need to either buy it, rent it, borrow it, or make it. What you do will depend on your budget, the availability, and whether or not they will wear it again.

Costume shops are great for both purchasing and renting. You can find patterns in craft books, at the local craft shop, and online. Ask others if they have a costume you can borrow. You can either purchase it used from the classified or an online auction site.

Making the Costumes

If you do decide to make the kids Halloween costumes this will require some advanced planning. This isn’t a project that can wait until the last minute because you need to give yourselves time to complete the project and allow for even more time to fix any mistakes or start over if you need to. You don’t want it to be the evening of Trick-or-Treat when you find out that the costume doesn’t fit properly. By then, the stores will pretty much be out of costumes. No matter what you decide, the number one thing is to make sure your children are happy.

Picking a Halloween costume isn’t that hard. You’ll have lots of help. Trust me, lots, and lots of help. Kids can’t wait to tell you what they, ’simply have to be’ for Halloween this year. They are bound and determined for you to use their idea, probably just as much as you are not to let this get out of hand. The good news is that with a few ground rules that you can agree on beforehand, the two of you can come to a mutual agreement and both be happy when Halloween finally shows up.

First decide on a budget for your Halloween costumes and hold the child to this. They may want the coolest, most expensive thing to come down the pike, but ultimately you end up paying the bill for this outfit that will likely only have a few days life in your child’s wardrobe. Once you decide how much you want to spend, try and give as many choices therein as you can. This is a fun thing, after all. If you have concerns about subject matter or age appropriateness, then you need to direct them in this.

Depending on age of your child, make sure you look at the applicable safety concerns. Will this costume trip them up, choke them or suffocate them? Will they be able to see where they are walking? Will it be too hot? Too cold? Too exposed? Many times costumes are marketed to the parents and the result is little Samantha ends up looking like someone off of late night TV. If you and your child are ready for that, fine. If not, consider what this will look like on your 6 year old!

You might decide to shop online this year for your Halloween costumes, and if you do, you’ve probably made a wise decision. The choice online is many times greater, and by starting your shopping now you’ll be able to have the pick of the best available costumes this year. Many online sites have not only great selections, but fast shipping, low prices and incredibly creative ideas, available in all sizes.

Some of the most creative designs will be found online as opposed to the department stores and seasonal Halloween shops that spring up this time of year. Those stores have to market the latest, most popular costumes, as they can’t afford to take a flyer on a costume that may or may not sell. Online, that’s not the case. When you go to your local Target you might find Pirates, Princesses and Wizards this year, and not a whole lot else, in about two minutes of browsing online I found children’s costumes of a cell phone, a man-eating shark, a gumball machine, all the characters of The Wizard of Oz, Colonial boys and girls, the Statue of Liberty and much, much more! Take the time to find a truly unique costume this year!

Take your time, shop early and make this Halloween an event your child will remember!

Face painting is a great alternative to a mask for kids costumes. It’s a lot less restrictive and doesn’t affect their vision the way a mask can.

I’ve always thought I’d need to be an artist for face paints to work out, but I recently found a website that proved me wrong. Check out this video – it’s pretty amazing what you can do:

If you’ve ever seen any of BuyCostume.com’s collection of baby costumes, you know how cute they are. I’ll bet that any parent who sees these costumes will find them hard to resist.

I know that I wish I had seen them when my daughter was still young enough to wear one, but I’ll just have to accept that she’s more interested in being a “rock star diva” than a cute little elephant or bunny.

There’s a pretty big selection to choose from, but just look at this elephant (it’s my favorite):
